Tiffany Stratton (Miss MITB), Bayley (WWE Women’s Champion), And Nia Jax (QOTR) Segment: We kicked off Smackdown this week with the center of the universe and Miss MITB, Tiffany Stratton. Stratton proclaimed that it is now her time to shine. Stratton then proceeded to warn NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, and WWE Women’s Champion Bayley that sooner or later, one of them will suffer defeat in Stratton winning a women’s title. We then had Bayley (WWE Women’s Champion) come out to the ring. Bayley told Stratton that she is not afraid of her, and that she will be ready for Stratton whenever that MITB cash in happens. Nia Jax (QOTR) then came into the picture and reminded Bayley that at SummerSlam, she will be facing her for the WWE Women’s Championship. Bayley then tried to turn Nia against Stratton, but to no avail. A brawl then occurred, but Michin with a kendo sick in toe helped Bayley fend off the 2 on 1 beatdown.
Nia Jax (QOTR) Versus Michin: This match was similar to the contest these two had a couple of weeks back. Jax dominated Michin for a good portion early on. Michin however was able to bounce back by flying at Jax with missle dropkicks, as well as tornado DDT’s. Jax however regained control every time it felt like Michin was getting something going. Tiffany Stratton tried to get involved, but was quickly excommunicated by Bayley (WWE Women’s Champion), who threw Stratton into the barricade ringside. The match concluded with Jax connecting with a Bonzai Drop for the win. Post match, Stratton attempted to cash in her MITB briefcase on an injury to Bayley caused by Jax, but did not follow through with the act.
WINNER: NIA JAX
Solo Sikoa Segment: We had Solo Sikoa cut another promo on WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. Sikoa also hyped up his new Bloodline members in Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Sikoa stated that Reigns is no longer fit to be the Tribal Chief, and that when he and if he comes back to WWE, then he will be forced to acknowledge Sikoa as his Tribal Chief. Sikoa then told Cody Rhodes (WWE Champion) that at the end of the night, he and the entire world will acknowledge him as their Tribal Chief.
Cody Rhodes (WWE Champion) And Randy Orton Segment: We went backstage to see Cody Rhodes sitting with Randy Orton. Orton told him that he will have his back tonight against the Bloodline, and oh boy did he ever.
LA Knight Segment: We had LA Knight make his way to the ring to address Logan Paul (United States Champion). Knight said that in his hands is a contract for a United States Championship match at SummerSlam. Knight then said that he has signed it, Smackdown GM Nick Aldis has signed it, but the one signature missing from the contract was Logan Paul’s. Knight then showed a highlight from a few weeks back where he pinned Paul in a MITB Qualifier. Essentially, consider Logan Paul versus LA Knight for the U.S. title at SummerSlam a done deal.
Apollo Crews And Baron Corbin Versus Humberto And Angel: Corbin and Crews used their senses to begin the match, with Corbin throwing Crews on Angel and Humberto on the far side of the ring. Crews demonstrated his unique power in addition to tossing Corbin out of the ring onto their opponents, which was pretty crazy seeing Baron Corbin of all people soaring to the outside of the ring. Santos Escobar and Elektra Lopez consequently interfered in the match, permitting Angel to use the Wing Clipper on Crews for the victory.
WINNERS: ANGEL AND HUMBERTO
Naomi Versus Blair Davenport: This match was fine for what it was. Some spots were miscued, you could tell based on both competitors individual movement throughout the bout. Naomi in the end however rolled up Davenport to win the match.
WINNER: NAOMI
Johnny Gargano And Tommaso Ciampa (WWE Tag Team Champions) Versus Austin Theory And Grayson Waller For The WWE Tag Team Championships: This was a good match, and honestly highlight of the night all things considered. Waller got some heat for awhile on Gargano, before Ciampa eventually got the tag and was able to steer the ship for himself and Gargano. After some more devestating powerslams and submissions, #DIY superkicked Waller to retain the titles. Post match, Jacob Fatu destroyed both tag teams to pave way for Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline.
WINNERS: AND STILL WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, JOHNNY GARGANO AND TOMMASO CIAMPA
Cody Rhodes (WWE Champion), Randy Orton, And The Bloodline Segment: Sikoa started off by telling everyone in attendance to acknowledge him as their Tribal Chief. Sikoa then brought up how Jimmy Uso did not acknowledge him, and he was taken out. Same thing for Paul Heyman. And when discussing Roman Reigns, Sikoa showed no fear, saying that he will force Roman Reigns to acknowledge him as the Tribal Chief (yeah sure buddy lol). WWE Champion Cody Rhodes then came out to the ring and pulled no punches. Rhodes said that if Solo wants a WWE title match at SummerSlam, then he’s got it. Rhodes then started attacking the Bloodline, but was outnumbered. Randy Orton then tried to make the save, but was beaten down as well. The show closed with Orton taking a triple powerbomb through the announce table, and Rhodes being Samoan Spiked by Sikoa.
