AEW Star Knocked Our during Match

On The latest episode of AEW Collision on July 13th it appears Dalton Castle got knocked out during this match.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Dalton Castle was legitimately knocked out during the match. The referee initially held up the count because it wasn’t supposed to be the finish, but then completed the three-count when Castle did not move. Meltzer noted that Castle remained on the ground for several minutes, and this was not shown on television.

The following was stated on The Wrestling Observer Radio about the situation:

Dave Meltzer: “So what happened was a flying knee that knocked out Dalton Castle.”

Bryan Alvarez: “So he did get knocked out.”

Dave Meltzer: “He got knocked.”

Bryan Alvarez: “Okay. That’s what I thought.”

Dave Meltzer: “He got knocked out. The referee counts 1-2, held up the count because it wasn’t supposed to be the pin, then counted the 3 because Dalton Castle never moved. They didn’t show Dalton Castle. He was on the ground for several minutes, so they didn’t show any of that.”

Bryan Alvarez: “That sucks.”

Dave Meltzer: “You could see the edit, but the edit was the referee held up the count. Dalton didn’t kick out, and then the referee had to count the three because Dalton wasn’t getting up. In the building, this was a complete mess, and they were very lucky that this week’s show was taped for this reason. Not a good one.”
