Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan (Women’s World Champion), And “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio Segment: Mami is most definitely back. After three long months of being on the shelf with a shoulder injury thanks to Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley has returned for Raw, and is out for blood, as she says. Ripley said that she is not necessarily concerned with Morgan lusting over “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, and is more concerned with regaining the Women’s World title. Ripley then called Morgan out to the ring so that she can destroy her, but instead of Morgan, it was Dom Dom. Mysterio had a rose in his hand, similar to how Eddie Guerrero was trying to win Chyna back in 2000. However, after only a 10 to 15 second talk between Ripley and Mysterio, Liv Morgan appeared on the titantron, or nowadays known as the LED stage. Morgan said that she meant it when she told Ripley that she was going to take everything away from her. Morgan also said that she never saw what Ripley saw in Mysterio, but after spending time with him she sees now, and doesn’t want to let “Daddy Dom” as she calls him go. Ripley then threw down the challenge, Rhea Ripley versus Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship at SummerSlam, to which Morgan accepted.
Sheamus Versus “Big” Bronson Reed: This was a good, hard hitting bout as expected. Sheamus also has a brand new song by Def Rebel, which is horrible. Reed even got a new vocalist for is song, and it sounds worse then what it was prior to change, Aside from all that, the match was a ton of fun. Sheamus dragged Reed on an excursion within the ringside area, administering the Ten Beats of the Bodhran over the announce table before embracing Raw announcer Pat McAfee. Sheamus accompanied with a massive White Noise in a tremendous show of durability, but he failed to secure the victory. Reed displayed his own power as well, grabbing Sheamus and hitting a massive powerbomb for a near fall. Reed attempted to follow that up with an aggressive Tsunami, but Sheamus avoided the attack and won the match with a massive sprinting knee strike. Post match, Pete Dunne saved Sheamus from Reed’s post-match violence before Dunne unexpectedly struck his former tag team partner in the back. Reed then delivered a massive Tsunami.
WINNER: SHEAMUS
Sonya Deville Versus Zelina Vega: This match was relatively quick. Vega hit Deville with a tornado DDT, then got tripped up and her arm broken by Shayna Baszler when Deville had the referee distracted. Deville capitalized with a knee strike and powerslam to win the bout.
WINNER: SONYA DEVILLE:
Damian Priest (World Heavyweight Champion) And Gunther (KOTR) Segment: We had a great segment here. Priest came out to the ring originally supposed to having a match with Braun Strowman, but instead called out Gunther for a face to face. Gunther obliged, and came down to the ring. Gunther said that he has been watching Priests’ title reign, and ultimately, he is not impressed. Gunther said that the constant interferences in Priests’ title defenses bring down the prestige of the World Heavyweight Championship, and that Priest is not a real champion. Priest responded by talking about how he was homeless for some time and had to scratch and claw to get where he is at today. Priest then said that at SummerSlam, he will defeat Gunther due to Gunther’s overconfidence. Gunther then said that when he was a child, his parents saw what he was going to be, and gave him every advantage he needed in order to become the Ring General. Gunther then said that WWE begged him to sign with them so they didn’t have to give world titles to “street trash” people like Damian Priest. This ticked Priest off a bit, and the two were nose to nose until Braun Strowman came down to the ring for his match with Priest.
Damian Priest (World Heavyweight Champion) Versus Braun Strowman: For what I thought could be a PLE match for the world title, it was instead given away on Raw, which I am fine with. Strowman attempted to eliminate Priest with the Strowman Express, but Priest shifted away from the carnage, causing Strowman to crash into the barricade. Priest annihilated Strowman through his concentration on his wounded knee, which grounded Strowman. Priest used astounding power to propel Strowman up for the South of Heaven Chokeslam, got him a hard-fought victory. Post match, Priest and Gunther fought in a quick fist and kick battle, with Priest getting the better of Gunther.
WINNER: DAMIAN PRIEST (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION)
Zoey Stark And Shayna Baszler Versus Kayden Carter And Katana Chance: This match was good for what it was. Carter and Chance hit a great standing front flip on the outside of the ring. Baszler and Stark were able to ground Chance for awhile with submission hold and vicious knee strikes. Eventually, Baszler and Stark hit their powerbomb into knee strike tag team finisher for the win. I was surprised that we did not get a Damage CTRL post match beatdown for what happened last week on Raw, but I presume Iyo Sky could not get to Raw since she was in Japan this weekend wrestling for MARIGOLD.
WINNERS: ZOEY STARK AND SHAYNA BASZLER
Erik Rowan Segment: We had an Erik Rowan segment talking about why he is joining the WYATT SICKS.
Drew McIntyre And Raw General Manager Adam Pearce Segment: Drew McIntyre, if he wanted a SummerSlam match against the man that has costed him multiple world titles, CM Punk, he needed to apologize to Pearce and the two officials that were assaulted at the MITB post show. McIntyre refused, and proceeded to assault the officials again, and was about to knock Pearce’s head off his shoulders, until Seth “Freakin” Rollins came in for the save. Rollins being the referee for Punk vs McIntyre seems pretty likely right about now.
Jey Uso Versus Dominik Mysterio: “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio started getting angry right away, attacking Jey Uso with a pre-match match attack. As the battle progressed, Liv Morgan (Women’s World Champion) arrived to save Mysterio from danger, to which Mysterio was not happy about.. Uso baseball kicked Mysterio right into Morgan on the outside the ring, putting the two in an untenable circumstance (poor Dom. At this point if he folded, I would not blame him whatsoever). This made Rhea Ripley marching her way towards Morgan, reducing Morgan in reverse and having her flee up the arena steps. Ripley commanded Mysterio return to the ring, only to be encountered with a Spear and a Uso Splash, which allowed Uso to win the contest.
WINNER: JEY USO
Chad Gable And Bo Dallas Segment: Bo Dallas was set up by Gable and the Creed Brothers, who assaulted Dallas for a good while. Dallas however continued to laugh, and eventually the WYATT SICKS made their way to ring to fend off the beatdown. Dallas resembled his late brother Bray Wyatt a ton in this segment, which was nice to see. Happy that this group is getting over with the audience.
Sami Zayn (Intercontinental Champion) Versus Ilja Dragunov For The Intercontinental Championship: This was a fun match and main event. Zayn and Dragunov began the match in a chopping challenge before Zayn executed a spectacular springboard moon sault to knock Dragunov out of the ring. Dragunov attempted to set off for the Contsantine Special for the second time but ended up getting captured by Zayn with the Blue Thunder Bomb, which he barely kicked out of. Zayn attempted the Helluva Kick, but Dragunov combated with a rattling boot to the face. Dragunov continued the offense with a massive H-Bomb from the ring to the floor, crushing Zayn’s face. Both men at this point in the match were on their final stand, when all of a sudden Bron Breakker destroyed both men once again like he did last week. Breakker stood tall, and it just a matter of when, not if, Breakker wins the Intercontinental Championship.
