CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, And Seth “Freakin” Rollins: We opened Raw this week with Seth “Freakin” Rollins coming out to the ring to address his rules and regulations for the SummerSlam matchup between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. Rollins laughed a little bit and let everyone sing his song before having Punk and McIntyre come out to the ring. When they did, McIntyre tried to angle Rollins to officiate the match in his favor, calling Punk a cancer and piece of crap. Rollins said while he hate CM Punk a ton, he also hates McIntyre as well. Rollins said that if any one of them try to bully him around like he is some ordinary official, he will curb stomp their heads right into the canvas. Punk then chimed in and told Rollins that if decides to screw him over, there will be dangerous consequences. McIntyre told Punk that he has his eye off the ball, and at SummerSlam, he will rip Punk limb by limb. McIntyre also proclaimed that he will not stop destroying and abusing Punk until Punk’s heart stops beating. McIntyre also stated that he will get payback on Punk for costing him the World Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions, and that no mercy will be shown. Punk told McIntyre that he is a loser, and at SummerSlam, he will lose again. According to Punk, all of the times he has screwed McIntyre out of the world title was in reaction to McIntyre injuring and trolling him. Punk then had the crowd chant his name, and then McIntyre taunted Punk with the bracelet he has of Punk’s wife AJ Lee and dog Larry’s names on it.
Creed Brothers Versus Alpha Academy: This was a decent match. With Chad Gable in the mix on the apron being a distraction, The Creed Brothers collaborated to throw a double back body drop off the turnbuckle to Otis for the win. Post match, Gable and The Creed Brothers used their collective benefit of the oh so famous numbers game to take down Otis. Gable then proceeded to put Otis in an Ankle Lock, but Maxxine Dupri was able to stop Gable, even slapping him in the face. The dispute was unexpectedly ended by The Wyatt SICKS, who unmasked themselves and were revealed to be Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Nikki Cross. The collectively eliminated Gable and The Creed Brothers while Uncle Howdy observed.
WINNERS: CREED BROTHERS
Sheamus Versus “Big” Bronson Reed: This match was fun. Reed and Sheamus delivered physical blow after physical blow to one another. Sheamus hit Reed with a brutal knee strike, but Reed was able to kick out somehow. Sheamus then got Reed in position for the ten beats of the bodhran, and delivered, but Reed’s leg got stuck in between the middle and bottom rope. The referee was distracted by this, and as Sheamus was setting up for the Brogue Kick, Pete Dunne walloped Sheamus with a stick (Fit Finlay’s Weapon circa 2006 SmackDown Fist Era) which allowed Reed to hit the Tsunami Splash for the victory.
WINNER: “BIG” BRONSON REED
Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, Shayna Baszler, And Zelina Vega Backstage: Vega was assaulted by these three women, having her arm reinjured specifically by Baszler.
Jey Uso Versus Carlito: Carlito was tasked with taking out Jey Uso, it did not go as planned. Uso was beating Carltio down for a good portion of the match. Uso then Speared the apple right out of Carlito’s mouth to win and reject his rival revenge in the name of The Judgment Day. If you are a fan of Jey Uso, don’t worry, because if Roman Reigns returns this weekend at SummerSlam, he will be on Raw next week to talk to Uso. Remember, Reigns is a FREE AGENT, so he can go to both Raw and SmackDown for a good while until he signs with one brand (which will most likely be SmackDown).
WINNER: JEY USO
Karrion Kross Versus Xavier Woods: Before the match, Woods rejected Kross’ present to join the Final Testament. Kross then made fun of Kofi Kingston losing the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar in record time, which made Woods deck Kross right in the mouth. In the very last stages of the match, AOP prompted Woods to lose focus at an essential time, allowing Kross to defeat him with the Final Prayer.
WINNER: KARRION KROSS
Liv Morgan (Women’s World Champion) Segment: Hell have no fury like a woman’s scorn. Liv Morgan is pissed, and she burned Dominik Mysterio’s photos in a fire pit. But don’t be fooled, Mysterio is helping her retain the women’s world title at SummerSlam.
Sami Zayn (Intercontinental Champion) Versus “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio: Zayn was tagging Dom Dom with punches and kicks for a good duration of the match. Dom then rebounded and had Zayn grounded for awhile, before Zayn mounted a comeback spearheaded by the fans cheering his name. JD McDonagh and Carlito attacked Sami Zayn during the final events of his match with Mysterio, resulting in the match being thrown out. As Zayn was looking in major trouble, Jey Uso came to the aid of his former Bloodline brethren and thwarted The Judgment Day. While in the ring, Bron Breakker attempted a covert assault on Zayn, but Zayn for the first time reversed Breakker and got the upper hand.
WINNER: NO CONTEST
Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter, And Katana Chance Versus Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, And Zoey Stark: This was fine. A few seconds after Zoey Stark secured victory for her team with Z-360 on Katana Chance, Damage CTRL made an unexpected return to strike Stark, Deville, and Baszler.
WINNERS: SHAYNA BASZLER, SONYA DEVILLE, And ZOEY STARK
Gunther (KOTR) Versus Finn Balor (World Tag Team Champion): This was the match of the night. Balor was defeated by Gunther in a hard-fought main event after refusing to have support from his Judgment Day teammates during the match. Gunther put Balor in the sleeper hold, leaving the official with no alternative but to call the sound of the bell. When Gunther made the decision to apply once more the sleeper after the match, Damian Priest (World Heavyweight Champion) charged into the ring and delivered a brutal beating to Gunther that closed the show.
WINNER: GUNTHER
