Leo’s Rope Breaks – Wresters Of The Month

10 – Dominik Mysterio

Huge month for Dirty Dom having solid matches with Penta pre and post WrestleMania and though the Judgment Day might not be on the same page right now he took advantage of his biggest opportunity to date and on the grandest stage won the Intercontinental Championship in a very good fatal four way match. Personally i feel it’s been a long time coming for Dom to catch a main roster championship and after a great match as well makes it so much sweeter.

9 – Bandido

After being out due to injury so much recently Bandido made one hell of a come back as he had a fantastic April as he would take the Ring Of Honor World Championship from Chris Jericho in controversial fashion but had what was, in my opinion, one of the best matches Jericho has had in quite a while. Not only that but having decent matches on ROH tv and a great battle with Dralistico on Collision for the title only last week.

8 – Joe Hendry

A lot of people said his name going into WrestleMania night 2 and well, he appeared being the mystery opponent for Randy Orton in a history making appearance besting the first TNA contracted wrestler to have a match on the WWE’s grandest stage and yes though the match was short it was certainly IMPACTful. As well as that Hendry had a solid tag match with Masha Slamovic at Unbreakable but also a great triple threat against Frankie Kazarian and Ethan Page at Rebellion successfully defending his TNA World Championship.

7 – Megan Bayne

Bayne had a fantastic 2025 in AEW so far and it’s only May. Her great start as life being “All Elite” culminated with a Women’s World Championship Match at Dynasty where she did unfortunately lose but her performance in the match was one of pure domination as she took Toni Storm to the absolute limit with her barely escaping with her title reign in tact and surviving Bayne, just. Since then it’s been dispatching local talent in 2-on-1 handicap matches on Collision as she works her way back to opportunities at gold.

6 – Swerve Strickland

So this might be a controversial pick as Swerve has actually only had 2 matches in April BUT hear me out. The 2 matches he had were so good. Mixed Tag Team Match with Willow against Moxley and Shafir wa great especially for a mixed tag. However, the match for the AEW World Championship at Dynasty was brilliant! He arguably wrestled the perfect match against Moxley and had the match won if not for the Young Bucks. He took Mox to the limit and i think that deserves a spot on this list.

5 – Seth Rollins

I mean you don’t win not only the best match of WrestleMania but the main event of night 1 and not make this list. His match against Roman Reigns and CM Punk was a classic and one to be remembered for a very long time. Not only that but the masterpiece build to the match and the reveal of Heyman as his new manager or advocate was great and it looks like they’re going to become quite the force with Bron Breakker joining them.

4 – Iyo Sky

What a up and down build to WrestleMania Iyo had with at one stage looking like she might not be on the card to going in as Women’s Word Champion and stealing the show on night 2 successfully defending the title in the first ever 5 star women’s match in WWE from Mr.Meltzer. The match was incredible and a big standout of the weekend of great wrestling with a shoutout to Rhea and Bianca who both had stellar performances. But it doesn’t stop there as only 24 hours later Iyo would be back in action having a dream match with Stephanie Vaquer and though it was interrupted it was a teaser of what one day will be a classic.

3 – Lyra Valkyria

As far as WWE goes no one had a busier April than Lyra Valkyria especially WrestleMania week as she defended her Intercontinental Championship successfully against veteran Bayley on Monday, ran the gauntlet match teaming with Bayley on Friday defeating 5 other teams then on Sunday won the women’s tag team championships with her mentor and returning icon Becky Lynch only for them to defend and lose said championships the very next night and Lynch turn on her leaving her laying to then only this past week take Lynch to the limit on the mic in a verbal battle against ‘The Man’ leaving Becky in disarray. Valkyria has had one hell of a month and deserves some serious flowers for what she’s done.

2 – Konosuke Takeshita

What a month this guy has had. I don’t envy his travel arrangements. Takeshita has been absolutely everywhere and doesn’t seem to be stopping. From Japan defending the NEVER Openweight Championship at Sakura Genesis to all over the U.S defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi in his final match in the states, showing up for Dynamite and Collision for tag matches and of course the classic match he had against Will Ospreay in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

1 – Will Ospreay

I mean I could leave this blank and move on and I feel as though a lot of people would agree but I won’t. Will this past month had a brilliant match with AEW upstart Kevin Knight in the opening match of Dynasty and the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Speaking of the tournament his semi-final match with Konosuke Takeshita was a match of the year contender. Those two matches alone secures him nicely on this list but then add in the great showings he’s had in tag team matches on Dynamite recently and it’s clear why he’s top of this list.
