Drew McIntyre And Damian Priest (World Heavyweight Champion) Segment: Drew McIntyre came out to kick off this weeks edition of Raw. McIntyre said that in five days, in front of his home country men and women, he will finally have his moment of winning a world championship in a building full of fans. Drew said that while that will happen for him, he has to have multiple eyes for World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priests’ Judgment Day, it is all about the numbers game. This caused Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and JD Mcdonaugh to come out to the ring to confront McIntyre. Priest said that all McIntyre does is make excuse after excuse after excuse. Priest then said that he doesn’t need the Judgment Day, or anyone else for that matter, to beat McIntyre. Priest then gave McIntyre an ultimatum. If McIntyre were able to defeat Finn Balor tonight on Raw, then the Judgment Day will be banned from ringside at CATC. However if Balor wins, the Judgment Day would have a front row seat to watching Priest embarrass and humiliate McIntyre for the world title at CATC.
Liv Morgan (Women’s World Champion) And “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio Backstage Segment: We cut to the back and see Dominik Mysterio walk into seeing Liv Morgan in the Judgment Day clubhouse. Mysterio told Morgan to leave, but Liv said that why would you want to be with a woman who makes you call her Mami, when you could be with a woman who calls you Daddy? Morgan then gave Mysterio her hotel card, and told him to come see her after the show. Man O Man, does Dirty Dom have a hard decision to make.
Iyo Sky Versus Lyra Valkyria: This was a rematch from the QOTR tournament. Iyo Sky has been going crazy as of late, and attacked Lyra last week on Raw. Lyra Valkyria had recently defeated Damage CTRL members multiple times, so Iyo Sky was determined to prove a point. After tearing her opponent’s hair to aid in a fast victory, Sky contunued the attack on the defeated Valkyria after the bell, but Katana Chance and Kayden Carter intervened to stop the ruckus.
WINNER: IYO SKY
Braun Strowman, Rey Mysterio, And Dragon Lee Versus Carlito, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, And JD Mcdonaugh: When Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan appeared on the apron to speak with “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, Zelina Vega of the LWO knocked the distracting Morgan off the apron and onto “Dirty” Dom, which is something that all male fans of sports entertainment wish could happen to them. This commotion resulted in Dragon Lee launching off Braun Strowman’s shoulders and onto Carlito for the victory.
WINNERS: BRAUN STROWMAN, REY MYSTERIO, AND DRAGON LEE
Sami Zayn (Intercontinental Champion) Versus Otis: Despite Otis’s strong performance against the residing Intercontinental Champion, Chad Gable intervened to chastise Otis for not listening to him. This allowed Zayn to hit the Helluva Kick out of nowhere and seal the victory in relatively quick fashion. The story here however was after the match was over. Gable attacked Zayn as he has been for several weeks at this point, and a an angered Otis imparted in to Gable and bombarded Sami, nearly turning his rage on Gable before storming out of the ring.
WINNER: SAMI ZAYN (INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION)
Shayna Baszler And Zoey Stark Versus Alba Fyre And Isla Dawn: Five days before all four women’s tag teams the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at CATC, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, and Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark competed for momentum on the red brand. After a heated exchange, Baszler secured the Kirifuda Clutch on Fyre for the victory. This was a good submission victory for Shayna inparticular, as she got knocked out by Lola Vice at NXT Battleground.
WINNERS: SHAYNA BASZLER AND ZOEY STARK
Bron Breakker Versus Ilja Dragonuv: This was a great match. Bron Breakker defeated Ilja Dragunov in a phenomenal match using hard hitting technique that has made him a staple on Raw. Breakker nearly won the match with a brutal Spear, but Dragunov rolled out of the ring, leaving one final Spear for the Mad Dragon. When Breakker resumed his assault after the bell, Ricochet appeared out of nowhere to intercept his attack and save Dragunov.
WINNER: BRON BREAKKER
Miz And R-Truth (World Tag Team Champions) Versus Authors Of Pain For The World Tag Team Championship: The New Day responded to The Final Testament by assisting The Miz and R-Truth in overcoming the numbers game and successfully defending the World Tag Team Championship against Akam and Rezar.
WINNERS: AND STILL WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, MIZ AND R-TRUTH
Bron Breakker Assaults Richochet Backstage: We have all heard the rumors about Ricochet heading to AEW, the second best wrestling promotion behind WWE, and so this segment was a swan song for Richochet in sports entertainment. Breakker destroyed this man, throwing him into production trucks, smashing him into car doors, before culminating in a super powerslam through the front car window. Richochet had some solid success in WWE, capturing the United States and Intercontinental titles, but I presume now wants to have some five star bangers in AEW. He will be missed by WWE, but not a death blow to the company by any means.
Drew McIntyre Versus Finn Balor: Drew McIntyre evened the odds for his World Heavyweight Championship match against Damian Priest at CATC, defeating Finn Balor with a devastating Claymore and earning the right to ban Judgment Day from ringside. As Raw ended, McIntyre and Priest stared each other down, setting the stage for a truly explosive title match five days later in Glasgow, Scotland. My question is will CM Punk make his presence known in the world title match this weekend, which to me, is the most pivotal thought heading into this weekend.
WINNER: DREW MCINTYRE
